A pair of important 18th century Colonial American portrait paintings. Identified as Cornelia Schuyler Morton (1775-1808) and Washington Morton (1774-1810) Albany, New York. HISTORY NOTE: Daughter of Philip Schuyler and Catherine Van Rensselaer of Albany and Saratoga, New York. Cornelia Schuyler married Washington Morton in 1797. She was the sister of Elizabeth Schuyler Hamilton and the sister-in-law of Alexander Hamilton. A miniature portrait of Cornelia by John Trumbull (1756-1843) is in the collection of the Yale University Art Gallery.
